Animation jobs can be found with video game companies, the entertainment industry, web design companies doing flash, animated advertisements online for advertising firms, medical procedure animations for health care organizations, university class animations for the online classroom, office training, and military training videos, to name a few.  While it may not fit in your ideal goal to work for the likes of Pixar, there are plenty of animation opportunities available in a variety of different industries.

Newcomers to the animation industry will find themselves completing tasks in movie effects, website production, advertising design, TV animation, video game design, and various aspects related to entertainment that need animation.

Established animators work freelance for themselves, doing projects for their own clients rather than working for a company.  Doing freelance work can be great for additional income and flexibility in family life.

Animation Salary

The average earnings for animators range between $40,000 – $80,000 annually with the top 10% earning upwards of $100,000 annually.
